Past Shows

Bio

I'm the kind of guy who doesn't write his own website in the third person.

The first time I touched a bass guitar was when my high school jazz band held an open audition. I was the only one who showed up for the bass slot, so I got the gig.

The music director took me out in the hall and showed me three notes. I played those three notes on every song. Didn't matter what key the song was in, I knew those notes and so I played the hell out of them.

I like to think I've gotten better since then and have been fortunate enough to play with some great acts. See the complete list in the Past Shows section above.

I'm really proud of the Pussycat Doghouse album, Bananas. It's super fun and is getting a lot of airplay, notably on Bob's Ska Radio. I'm also playing occasionally with 60s pop group Duette.

These days, I'm writing for tnocs.com. Please see above for a list of articles.

CDs and Downloads

Pussycat Doghouse - Bananas
Order at Bandcamp.
The debut album from Nashville's friendliest ska band, Pussycat Doghouse, featuring the hit "Ask For The Banana You Want."

"Fun-loving 2 Tone ska/pop is the order of the day on 'Bananas,' the impressive debut album by new US combo PUSSYCAT DOGHOUSE.... The 12 tunes on offer across 'Bananas' deliver super catchy upbeat rhythms & great sing-a-long choruses with strong male & female vocals." - Do The Dog Skazine #106

Bill Bois - Catalyst Soundtrack 2018 Remaster
Order at Bandcamp.
NEWLY REMASTERED! In 2007, I was asked to write an original soundtrack for a video game called Catalyst, which is available from Lost Luggage Studios. I was so happy with the results that I released the songs as an EP. This 2018 remaster is the first time it's been available for years and features longer versions of the songs and a bonus track.

The music is vaguely new age, somewhat smooth jazz, but mostly electronica. I tried to make it simultaneously soothing and exciting.

Duette - Call It A Day
Order at Bandcamp.
My pals Duette have recorded another song I wrote, this time with woodwind genius Patrick Mosser. Recorded remotely during the pandemic, it's the story of being too busy to fall in love.

Duette - A Little Bit Of Bourbon
Order at Bandcamp.
My pals Duette have recorded a version of a song I wrote. Mid-pandemic, I recorded the bass part at home and sent emailed it to them. Also, mid-pandemic, a little bit of bourbon is a good way to spend a quiet evening at home.

Ashley Chapman & The Strays - Guy Like You
Listen at at YouTube.
My fellow ex-Pussycat is back with her new single. Check out her love song to her dog, Brover.

Ashley Chapman & The Strays - Every Little Thing You Do
Watch and listen on YouTube.
My friend and former bandmate in Pussycat Doghouse, Ashley Chapman, is out with her new album. I recorded the bass for every song in my home studio during lockdown and haven't heard the final mixes until now. Fun rock pop!

Order at Amazon.
Eight O'Five Jive's second album, Swing Set, won the 2017 Nashville Industry Music Award for Album Of The Year and earned an Honorable Mention in the 2017 Blues Blast Music Awards.

""Relentlessly fun both musically and lyrically, this is a terrific release that you need in your party blues collection." - Mark Smith, Jazz & Blues Report March/April 2017

Eight O'Five Jive - Too Many Men
Order at Amazon.
Too Many Men, Eight O'Five Jive's first ablum, was nominated for both the Blue Blast Music Awards New Artist Debut Album and Nashville Industry Music Awards Album Of The Year.
